BALANCED WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION
Because of the forward mounting of the power train, and the skidders ability to
carry the log load well forward on the machine, the combined weight of the
vehicle and its payload is spread over the entire length of the tracks.
TORSION BAR SPRUNG SUSPENSION
Ten torsion bars attached individually to roadarms provide the sprung
suspension. Each set of road wheels can move up and down independently, there-by
allowing the tracks to conform to uneven surfaces.
HIGH SPEED STEEL TRACK (HSST)
Cast Steel track pads, connected with patented rubber-bushed steel pins, permit
track flexibility while preventing metal-to-metal wear and track contamination
from soils.
The KMC 2500 is designed primarily to skid pre-bunched or medium to large diameter logs on steep slopes, wet and boggy areas or sensitive soils. The machine is designed so that the arch extends hydraulically towards the load, then retracts as the load is picked up, lifting the butts over the rear deck, closer to the machine's center of gravity. This eliminates butt dozing and aids in balancing the weight distribution which results in better traction, higher speeds, greater productivity and consistent low Dynamic ground pressure.
